JAMES PRAVASILIS ON THE RED CARPET AT THE GOLDEN DOOR INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL
A New York Native born in Manhattan and raised in Brooklyn, James Pravasilis first taste of showbiz came at the age of eight when he was picked to perform with Lassie the dog at Radio City Music Hall as the pre-show entertainment for "The Magic Of Lassie" Film. His acting career came to a stop shortly after and began studying guitar and has been a professional musician since.
His desire to act was rekindled after a principle role on the reality TV show ‘Second Chances’. After joining Danny Aiello's band as his guitarist James was further inspired to pursue acting full time. He has performed in countless Off and Off-Off Broadway plays and various film and TV shows and continues to act in NYC and abroad in both Theatre, TV and film.
James took home the Founders award at the Closing Night Gala and Award Ceremony at the Golden Door International Film Festival on Sunday, September 22, 2019 held at the Loew’s Jersey Theater.
His latest film Three Grand Souls, which he also wrote and executive produced, is about a man named Chuck (James Pravasilis) a former Special forces vet suffering from PTSD wastes away in a motel room drinking himself away meets Melinda (Bianca Jamotte LeRoux), a brazen but beautiful prostitute who tries to save his broken soul, but is her soul darker than his?
The film also stars Bill Sorvino, Christian Keiber (who won Best Supporting Actor at GDIFF) and Brooke Hoover. Directed by Johnny Greenlaw.
