FAMILY DRAMA WINS BEST HORROR AT LONG ISLAND INTERNATIONAL FILM EXPO

LEADING ACTRESS ACCEPTS AWARD FOR BEST HORROR FILM

Joy Shatz is an actress who starred in Karen, a film that won Best Horror at the Long Island International Film Festival. The film is about a young woman named Karen who’s struggling through life, the unlikely relationship she develops with a man with seemingly no roots, and the tense events that unfold the following day at her family’s Christmas dinner.

She is also known for her roles in the films Wild Woman, where she won the award for Best Actress in a Short Film at LIIFE in 2014, and The Nightrunner, where she was nominated for the same award by the Golden Door International Film Festival. Joy has also had a role in the TV show Happy!, which premiered on the Syfy network.
