AWARD-WINNING SPY THRILLER SERIES GEARS UP FOR THE NEXT CHAPTER

SUCCESSFUL CROWDFUNDING PROJECT GOES INTO PRODUCTION FROM AWARD-WINNING FILMMAKER

With over 30 International Awards and nominations to date and successful screenings across five continents to worldwide audience acclaim, THE PEPPER PROJECT, a female-sexy-badass digital series is boldly moving forward with production of it's next chapter, PEPPER: RICOCHET.

A story that unwinds the past via veiled memories - or lack thereof - THE PEPPER PROJECT features lead character, ex-CIA super-sniper Pepper, as a smart yet fallible, sensitive badass with a conscience, challenged with solving a series of increasingly dangerous puzzles in order to find her missing sister. Throughout the series, Pepper grapples with complex intriguing, often-lovable but volatile characters; both friends and villains creating plot lines that intersect and unravel.

Creator and Executive Producer of THE PEPPER PROJECT, Caris Vujcec, is a New York City- based actor, writer, producer and director, who was recently on Broadway in the new play by Beau Willimon (“House of Cards”) The Parisian Woman, understudying Uma Thurman and Blair Brown. Vujcec, who leads the cast, has also worked in television and film, is most recognized for her recurring role as Detective Louise Campesi in NBC's long-running Law and Order television series.

“With a spy-thriller-vibe and fresh film-noir-esque cinema-style, THE PEPPER PROJECT tells a dramatic story of personal challenge with unique, intriguing and beautifully-vulnerable characters,” Vujcec said. “There may be some tough moments, but in-your-face violence is not the driving force or rationale of the series,” she added.

Vujcec, who has earned a well-respected reputation on the global digital series circuit, has just returned from participating as a Juror at the prestigious die Seriale Web Festival in Giessen, Germany.

“It was a complete honor and thrill to represent the U.S. in this arena, judging indie-creator content from around the globe with fellow jurors also spanning our world and industry,” Vujcec said. While at the festival, Vujcec also presented a workshop on how to create a pitch deck, moderated the pitch competition and, was part of the die SerialePro speed meeting panel.

“The entire experience was phenomenal,” says Vujcec, “as there was humbling-opportunity to share what I’ve learned, as well as network with industry creators and professionals from all over the world.”

The first phase of PEPPER: RICOCHET will be shot this summer at a remote lakehouse location and stars both Vujcec and NYC-based actor, Michael Pemberton. Pemberton, who has enjoyed a long career in television, film and theater, said – “I am thrilled to portray Bald Sam in the exciting new chapter, PEPPER: RICOCHET. When I read the script I was genuinely thrilled by the great blend of intelligent suspense and stylish action."

THE PEPPER PROJECT ranked the #1 U.S.-produced series in the 2017 Web Series World Cup, an international digital series competition, currently comprised of 21 “stages” of Festival Competitions worldwide. THE PEPPER PROJECT ranked 19 overall, with well over 250 series in the running for 2017. The production team is currently seeking a co-production deal to further develop the series.

James Parsons, THE PEPPER PROJECT's Director of Photography, has a creative eye and skill that matched what Vujcec was seeking in order to capture Pepper's story from behind
the lens. That skill, combined with his ability to collaborate with Vujcec and pilot co-director Eric Yellin on an overall vision in the telling of Pepper's story, succeeded in establishing the film-noir- esque style as a signature for PEPPER'S series.

"Being a female-driven piece, it was an amazing experience to have so many women in decision-making positions, being heard and respected for their expertise, and, along with our male colleagues, it served to produce a well-balanced and integrated experience and film," Vujcec says.

PEPPER: RICOCHET follows suit with a number of women in key positions,” says Vujcec. “It’s very important to create and foster opportunities for women in our mostly male-dominated industry, and I’m fortunate to have a great team with whom to create great content,” she added.

The project is hitting production soon. No release date scheduled at this time.
