“Hang onto Your Shorts” Film Festival hosted it’s successful sixth annual fest for indie filmmakers worldwide in the artsy world of Asbury Park, New Jersey. Chris J. Cullen, Rich Lello and Brian Kopack are three Jersey boys who enjoy going to events on the Jersey Shore.  After Hurricane Sandy in 2011, the shore was hit very hard and many people came together to help rebuild the shore.

Though many artistic events and film festivals have left the area.  They all work in the entertainment industry in some form with a strong love of film making.  Their mission is to bring back the movie industry to the Jersey Shore while celebrating those who are trying to break into the industry with Short Films.

While starting out small, over the years they have expanded to three venues over a full weekend showcasing almost 200 short films. We had the pleasure of attending the festival and interviewing some winners, filmmakers, guests and the film festival directors themselves.
